'Extend harbour wall at Rhyl to unlock windpower potential'

The exposed sand bank and mooring buoys at Rhyl harbour

FISHERMEN and politicians want to widen a harbour and realise a seaside town’s potential to become centre of North Wales’ wind turbine industry.

Vale of Clwyd MP Chris Ruane met with members of Rhyl Harbour Committee to discuss plans to develop the west tip of the resort into a bustling marina.

Denbighshire County Council have made changes to the Foryd Harbour and invested in excess of £2.2m on re-developing part of the quay wall, boat storage and access facilities.

Ex-player's daughter hanged herself

Ex-player's daughter hanged herself

The teenage daughter of former Premier League star Antoine Sibierski hanged herself after drinking champagne and taking the recently banned drug mephedrone, an inquest heard.

Sibylle Sibierski, 18, was described as a regular user of the drug, which was made illegal in April this year after its link to a number of deaths.

Stockport Coroner's Court heard that Miss Sibierski, a student who liked to party and smoke cannabis, was also deeply insecure and "paranoid".

She had rowed with her boyfriend the night before she died. Police were called and she was arrested.

The inquest also heard that users of mephedrone, also known as Miaow Miaow or Bubbles, often suffer low moods after taking the drug. It also affects their ability to think about the consequences of their actions.

Decision due over G20 death charges

A Scotland Yard riot squad officer filmed knocking Ian Tomlinson to the ground is due to be told if he faces prosecution over his death.

Keir Starmer, Director of Public Prosecutions, will reveal whether the officer has a case to answer over the G20 protest clash.

The officer, a member of the force's controversial territorial support group, was caught on camera pushing the newspaper seller to the ground.

Mr Tomlinson, 47, died from internal bleeding after collapsing a short distance away in the City of London on April 1 2009. Members of the Tomlinson family will be told the decision at the headquarters of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
