Strike threat at Anglesey and Denbighshire firms

Meat workers at the Vion-owned chicken processing plant in Llangefni will hold a strike ballot on Monday after pay deals were rejected by the Unite union. They were offered between 1.5% and 2% by the Dutch meat firm but the union says these are below inflation offers for staff who are already on close to the minimum wage. Now around 160 union members at the 200 worker plant will ballot over whether to take industrial action. Posted on 10 Aug 2010 by WrexhamLive News
